Laptop problems...

21/10/2013

I didn't post these few days because my laptop went completely out with many problems. Fujitsu changed for me a HDD that wasn't spoilt, but detected as spoilt due to BIOS problem on my laptop. Fortunately enough, they got a new BIOS update for my laptop model. They swapped out a spare HDD for me and did a BIOS update, then swap back to the original replaced HDD. Everything worked after that, how nice. The technician was extremely kind and patient to help me to resolve my issue :D

They changed for me my LCD screen, CD/DVD Combo drive, WiFi adapter, Motherboard fan, and lastly, the HDD.

First week of school was okay for me. Nothing much happened except for meeting some of my new lecturers (Some of the lecturers taught us before). Timetable was surprising good, as I do not have to report to school on Tuesdays (how great). I'm starting to learn Java programming language using Eclipse for this semester. I can say that it is everything that I've hoped to do every since Primary school, which is to officially learn programming in school :)

Just a few more things about my laptop, it is freaking fast right now. Thanks to all the new hardware that they replaced for me. The LCD screen looks amazing. The previous screen was made by LG and now the replaced screen is made by Samsung (maybe that made the difference). I'm having dramatically lesser screen glare on my laptop, especially when viewing from the sides. With the BIOS updated, I can expect higher stability with my laptop as well :)

Was just trying out DraStic emulator on my Nexus 7, it worked great. This is also the first NDS emulator that is without lag, far better than any emulator ran on PC. I also fixed the problem which my iPhone was unable to download any new applications by doing a restore. I bought a Micro USB cable last week and it arrived a few days ago. It is flawless, and it is rare. Considering that cables are sold cheaply, this should be a pretty good deal. The one I bought is Nylon braided, which is supposed to be stronger and more durable against wear and tear. I used it to charge my Nexus 7 yesterday and it worked brilliantly. I might consider buying one for my iPhone if they fixed the popular (Accessory not supported error) problem.

Just watched Despicable Me 2 again (The first time was in cinemas). I transferred the movie clip over to my Nexus 7 and played it using MX Player Pro. 1080p movie on a 720p screen looked great. Everything is well for me now and hopefully there won't be any new problems for me, at least not so many at the same time :/

As always, take care and I'll see you soon :)

Renewed subscription (1 year)

10/10/2013

Hi everyone, just a quick post informing everyone that I've just renewed my subscription for website hosting and services for another 1 year. I know that I might not have 1 year to stay on as I need to go for my NS, so 1 year subscription is more than enough for me right now. After my NS, I would really consider taking on 2 year subscription for the best pricing.

My previous subscription was for half a year, now it is 1 year and is the longest subscription model I've ever taken on.

As for the spammer who comment spam on my website everyday, please stop doing it or else I might have to ban you from visiting the website. Please respect the content and myself, being ads free, and most importantly, garbage free...

To make sure that the money is well spent, I will seriously try to post more here on my website. It is late now, good night to myself and good morning to many of the folks out there. Signing off @ 4:31am

As always, take care and I'll see you soon :)

My horoscope for the year?

9/10/2013

After enduring a rocky road over the past few years, where you changed your mind about love a thousand times and nearly gave up hope on relationships altogether, you're finally ready to enter a period of stability and commitment. The eclipse patterns are no longer turning your relationship realm upside down. You have a better sense of what you want and what you will not put up with in your relationships, which puts you on solid ground. As much as you love a good game, when it comes to love you want nothing short of the real thing. You're exhausted from the back-and-forth, the push-and-pull, cat-and-mouse games. You've grown up considerably since 2012 and are ready for a meaningful and mature relationship.

Other great news to support this maturation process in love is that Saturn has left your romance department for good (well at least for 28 years). After creating considerable difficulty and challenge in your romantic sector since late 2009, you've learned the hard way not to get involved with the wrong people. Your sometimes naive trust in the goodness in others has been replaced with a sober and sharp mind that carefully weighs the pros and cons of getting involved before giving your heart. Saturn taught you how important rules and limits are, even in your romantic life. When you draw a sharp line, your partner will respect you. If they cannot accept your limits, they do not deserve you. This has become crystal clear for you now, Gemini. It's as if a huge rock is being lifted from your romantic life and you're finally clear about whether you want to commit or quit. Of course, this doesn't mean you'll be completely free from any doubts of flip-flopping while committed, this is just part and parcel of your dual nature, Gemini. The difference is that you're willing to roll up your sleeves and put in the hard work to make the relationship successful
Came across this song a few months back while watching 'Poetic Justice' on TV. Below is the theme song...
爱情其实有分很多种的,放手也是一种啊

Singapore Flyer

9/10/2013

First, I want to mention that I changed up my website quite a bit, moving this blog as the main index (old links will be redirected to the updated link automatically) and added dividers to right side bar items. I've also moved to full justification for my future posts (including this) for easier reading. I should be renewing my subscription too. Thanks for your support, as always...

Singapore Flyer! :D. It is my first time there, and I took loads of picture! I remember myself working at PictureWorks as a part timer. Guess what? Singapore Flyer is PictureWorks too! My parents actually bought one of the pictures by PictureWorks! Haha! :D

Goodbye for now...

1/10/2013

Hi everyone. I've emailed Weebly regarding my Weebly Pro subscription as I'm going for my NS (soon) and still want to keep my old pricing for Weebly Pro. Weebly team was kind enough to offer me an exclusion for me to come back a few years later with the same pricing. Therefore, stevenching.com will not be getting any updates from 14 October onwards. The domain name (stevenching.com) will still be live though. I will definitely be posting updates regarding the process here until 14 October. I will try to redirect my domain name to somewhere else temporary, and will definitely be coming back to Weebly after my NS.

Some updates to my FYP
Everything is going smoothly and the demonstration to lecturers will be on 7th October. In fact, today I'm going to school to demo my project to my own supervisor first before the actual day. The grading on 7th October will also determine whether my group will be selected to show our project during the annual engineering show in January (It's a big thing!!)

The Android application is looking fantastic too, and I still have no idea whether it will be a public thing or not on 7th October... Stay tuned I guess. Because of the 14th October deadline, I should be moving the FYP section of my site to somewhere else too.

Oh and did I mention? Happy Children's day! :)

As always, take care and I'll see you soon...
