Late night post...

26/8/2013

It is currently 2:56am in the night (actually morning), and I can't sleep. So I thought I would just make a blog post here on my blog. Here is goes. Just played a few rounds of CS:GO with my friend. Got myself a new collectible again, not selling it this time since it only cost 20 cents? I got a case yesterday and sold it for around 1.30USD. Those who play CS:GO should get what I mean.

Because of all the money earning items that are dropped currently by the game, the game is also starting to see many user using bot to play. The main purpose is to earn them the case by random, or increasing their hours to get a Operation Payback Gold Medal... It really spoils the game for us legit players, so me and my friends actually vote kicked them out of the game. It was kinda funny as my friends would almost instantly accept the kick vote and the botters would be kicked by the server

Apparently, this team mate of mine only know how to walk in 'circles' and the other only know how to walk straight...

This screenshot was taken during the 2012 Christmas Event for CS:GO, notice the players are wearing party hats?

'That Girl in Pinafore'

15/8/2013

Watched 'That Girl in Pinafore' a few days ago. It was an amazing and touching movie. It is directed by a Singapore director (Support local films!). The director took a different approach compared to films by Jack Neo.

The movie theater was kinda empty when I watched the movie, with less than 20 audiences. I was also given a free complimentary movie pass from Shaw as I'm one of the first few people who bought tickets for that day. There were many great songs that were played throughout the movie as well. Due to the epic sound system that you get when watching a movie in a cinema, I really enjoyed the songs. I actually bought those songs in iTunes before even watching the movie. Before watching the movie, those songs were nice, but after watching the movie, all the songs made much more sense to me. Whenever I listen to those songs now, I can still remember many of the scenes in the movie.

The overall movie experience was good as expected (It can be better if that Shaw staff don't keep opening the door of the theater hall, it was distracting). The little twist at the end of the movie was quite surprising for me. At least, I didn't expect that kind of ending. I really hoped to see Jia Ming tell Rachael that he is her father, but that didn't happen. The part when May suddenly died, got me 'dumbfounded' in a way. Audiences have no idea why May died. The nearest thing I can relate to is that May wanted to 'surprise' Jia Ming by bringing her daughter back to Singapore to visit Jia Ming for the first time?

Now that I have all those songs purchased in iTunes, it is constantly on repeat. I actually did not know much about 新谣 before. As I started playing those songs at home, my mum went '哇, 你现在也学人家听新谣'. Really hope to see the movie release in DVD, or even better Blu-Ray :)

As always, take care and I'll see you soon

FYP and EXAMS!!

10/8/2013

Exams are coming up so soon for me. I'm most worried about my EM2B as usual. I just have to put in more effort in studying my EM2B than my other subjects, and hopefully it will be alright this way. Recently, just submitted my PBL for EM2B, and I think the lecturer should be pretty pleased with the work.

OPSYS Mini Project went well and I got full marks for it, and so is NETMGMT? Got full marks for lab test as well. All these seems like good things but actually it's nothing good. My math still sucks :(

So many things happen throughout these few months, and it is national day today! This is also the first year that I get to celebrate Singapore's birthday as a Singapore citizen! I just got my Singapore Pink IC a month ago. I also had a chance to go to NE Show 2, to feel the excitement of National Day myself.

FYP is going extremely well, with tremendous progress on both the Windows and Android fronts. I've actually created a website for my FYP project, but it is private for now and I don't wish that our incredible idea fall into the wrong hands. But trust me, it is nothing short of spectacular :) I'm putting my FYP work to rest for a bit, and will be back working on it after my exams. SPOILER: I'm trying to work on an iOS version as well, stay tuned!

Recorded the full NDP Parade in full stunning HD 1080p clarity from HD5 at 50 fps, with a video size of around 15GB. Even after so many years with the Media Player, I am still impressed with the quality the Media Player records at and puts out. I also finally have the entire room to myself. The studying/laptop table is now placed in my room, but still with plenty of space left to spare. I can finally use my laptop under the comfort of an air conditioned room!

With Hari Raya, National Day and the weekends all in one, this is the longest break I ever had for a very long time. Still, I have lab test and quiz coming up next week as well. Sometimes I wonder whether I should work on my exams or the lab test/quiz itself, hmmm. I should be rather busy as I have my exams, FYP and next, NS!! I really hope I do well for my FYP though, as I think that my group have a fantastic idea and hope we make it into the FYP Engineering show competition? :P

Went to USS a few days ago, here are the pictures/videos
