Going to NS tomorrow. I went out today and got everything I need for enlistment tomorrow. I still have no idea whether I should be happy or sad about the fact that I'm enlisting tomorrow. Hopefully, everything will be alright and a few months will pass quickly.
The thought is up on my mind again to give everything up. Since I'm going NS tomorrow, should I really give everything up? I feel so vexed and I think I'm unable to focus on anything during my NS

I've made a few edits to ScreenRec to fit my current testing environment. I'm currently testing ScreenRec on CyanogenMod 11 running on the Nexus 7 2012. I'm also running on the new ART (Android Runtime). I tested my application and it was crashing on start. I updated my application to now fully support ART!

Just had some time to make some improvements to ScreenRec.
These are the progress I've had.

- Select a duration from a predefined list (You can still stop the recording anytime)
- Improved keyboard support
- Keyboard doesn't randomly appear upon resume and startup

I'm still working on a lot of things. Like file name generation, and the creation of a modified screenrecord module to make sure that my application can be used to record up to 10 hours (up from the usual 3 minutes). There are just much much more to do. I'll update here accordingly

Hi everyone! Today, I'm so happy to give you a sneak peek on something I've been working on.
Introducing ScreenRec for Android (#Rooted devices only#). This is also the first Android app I've created that requires root access to work. It means that if your device is not rooted and doesn't have Superuser/SuperSU, you are out of luck. If you are not using Android 4.4, you will also be unable to use this app. As you can probably see by now, this application uses Android 4.4 features like translucent navigation bar.
(I have no idea whether the pinkish/red color on the navigation bar looks nice or not, I just wanted a color that fits nicely with my icon color)
DISCLAIMER: Nothing in this application is copied or referred from Medduler UI design cues, I've personally designed and coded the UI from ground-up and tried over 26 different color combinations for UI. I'm pretty satisfied with this one so I'm keeping it.
There's a new feature with Android 4.4 Kitkat, which is screen recording. This application basically packs all the screen recording goodness and lets the user directly do screen recording without using ADB (Android Debugging Bridge. To work around the use of ADB, root is needed. The application is still in its early stages and I'm still testing out many of the features that I've baked into the application. Currently, only the duration setting, bitrate setting and the RECORDING WORKS!
Today, my uncle came to my house all the way from Malaysia. I showed him the application and he said that it is a great idea :) So happy to hear positive comments on the project! Still, there are already similar applications on the Play Store which does much more than my application can currently do. They are also paid applications (quite expensive). Rather than buying their app, why not make my own when I can? Depending on the feature set, I might put it out as a paid app (a very very low price) or just completely free!
I'm still improving the UI and what you are seeing now is just the basic UI for me to test the features out. I've also built in a check for root and check for busybox. Finally, I no longer have to download a root checker application to check my root status, since my app can already accomplish that :) The check for root can even tell that you have root access but refuse to grant it to the application!
I spent a lot of time figuring out how to program a service, and I finally did it! The service makes it easy to stop the recording. There are still bugs with the service, but it works! Bugs I meant that it might not terminate itself even though the recording has stopped. This is just a small issue and will soon be fixed.
There are much more that I've built into my application that I've more or less forgotten. What a tiring day for me today! :(

Seller shipped the Cruzer Pop instead of the Cruzer Facet :( Click to view this 13MP picture in its full glory
Recently, I bought two thumbdrives which are on sale online. I just received it today and found out that the seller shipped the wrong items. But still, it is still worth a picture isn't it? It actually looks cool, but I'm not giving up my Cruzer Facet (Metal body) for this. Therefore, I'm sending the items back to the seller tomorrow :)
Tomorrow is Xiaomi's Mi Fan Festival. There are a lot of items on sale on their website from 10am onwards. I would definitely be getting something from the sale tomorrow :) I should be working right around next week at 14-15 April for 3 months. Hopefully, I would be able to earn some money to save up.
It is just about 12 midnight right now. My brother is going to POP from his NS next week. At least, I would have someone to accompany me next week. Staying at home is just extremely boring and made me restless. I guess I would meet up with a few friends for the next few days, rather than staying at home.

I went to the graduation party in school yesterday. It is just a dinner and not a ceremony where I get my certificate. I met up with my Object Oriented Programming lecturer, and she reminded me that the Medduler(Android application) is practically useless without the Windows counterpart.
Therefore, I've decided to release Medduler for Windows to the public. Please use your own FTP server for your own implementation and testing. The full source of my Windows application will be released after I'm done with the touch up procedures.

Above is a power-bank that I got off Qoo10. It is advertised as featuring a Samsung SDI battery. I don't really believe what the seller state nowadays, especially power-banks, therefore decided to took apart the battery.
The disassembly revealed the cell that is used to power our electronic gadgets. Information as below...
2D52 means the cell is manufactured in 2013 at Week 52 (from my research)
There are two LED indicators on the IC chip itself to display the charging and charged status
How the power-bank works is that the 3.7V voltage from the battery is stepped-up to 5V by the IC chip and then supplied via the USB port. But how safe is the power-bank itself against short-circuit?
I've tested the power-bank by purposely short circuiting mine. The power-bank disabled itself from further charging. Just when I thought that the power-bank is spoilt, I took it to charge and volia, it worked again! I'm thinking the charging procedure basically grounded the shorted circuit in the power-bank and made it work again.
One point to note is that one of the poles of the battery is soldered onto the wire itself. According to Samsung specification, manufacturer aren't suppose to solder the wires directly onto the poles on the battery. Considering that the power-bank is just SGD$4.90, I'll let it go.
I've also tested the power-bank using a multimeter to ensure that it was outputting 5V. The results is that the output voltage fluctuates quite a bit. Minimum from 4.9V to about 5.1V MAX. So it definitely outputs the right voltage. I wasn't able to test the Amperage as a load is needed when measuring.
I did a full charge of the power-bank and used it to charge my iPhone 5 from a completely dead state to full. In fact, I was quite surprised that it is able to charge it once. I've had another power-bank before that is also rated at 2600mAh, but only able to charge my iPhone 5 to 80%. That is also the reason why I am so skeptical about the capacity of those power-banks sold out there online.
The enclosure of the cell is pretty weak/fragile, so you might want to keep it away from liquid, etc. I mean water can very easily seep into the power-bank internals causing all around short circuit or even explosion...
In overall, the power-bank was a pretty good deal at just SGD$4.90 + SGD$1.00 for shipping

I'm working on another new version of Medduler QR Data Manager before releasing the full source and application online. The new version aims to dramatically improve on a few things that are vital to how the application works...
I'm in the stage of trying out the new procedure with a few dummy files to see the performance and stability of the new implementation. Until now, what I have to say is that it works, but I fear it might hinder other parts of the application. Therefore, thorough testing and checks must be done before the new version is officially released.
It will also completely remove the errors caused by clash in file names! Even though it should not happen, but completely eliminating it is definitely good :)
