Hi everyone. I've emailed Weebly regarding my Weebly Pro subscription as I'm going for my NS (soon) and still want to keep my old pricing for Weebly Pro. Weebly team was kind enough to offer me an exclusion for me to come back a few years later with the same pricing. Therefore, stevenching.com will not be getting any updates from 14 October onwards. The domain name (stevenching.com) will still be live though. I will definitely be posting updates regarding the process here until 14 October. I will try to redirect my domain name to somewhere else temporary, and will definitely be coming back to Weebly after my NS.

Some updates to my FYP
Everything is going smoothly and the demonstration to lecturers will be on 7th October. In fact, today I'm going to school to demo my project to my own supervisor first before the actual day. The grading on 7th October will also determine whether my group will be selected to show our project during the annual engineering show in January (It's a big thing!!)

The Android application is looking fantastic too, and I still have no idea whether it will be a public thing or not on 7th October... Stay tuned I guess. Because of the 14th October deadline, I should be moving the FYP section of my site to somewhere else too.

Oh and did I mention? Happy Children's day! :)

As always, take care and I'll see you soon...

By the time you read this, you should have already received the present that I've got for you for your birthday. I bought that necklace long ago, just waiting for today to give the necklace to you. With you receiving the necklace today, I think I've already done something that I've long ago wanted to do.

This past 6 months might not be the best 6 months in your life, but I'm sure that you lived it your best. Time flies, and just you might have noticed it, it is already your birthday.

I regret to say that I was not able to spend the past 6 months with you.

Here I am wishing you a very Happy 19th Birthday, and the very best in your future endeavors :)

As always, take care and hopefully we will have a chance to talk again soon

Had been spending a lot of time programming the applications for my FYP recently. Even it is my interest, it is seriously tiring. I need I need a bigger computer display to work with my project. My laptop's mere 13 inch screen just would't make the cut for the job.

More or less, the application should be ready with all the important features coded. Now it is just time for bug testing. With the help of my group members, they discovered 4 bugs for me to fix. I already had it in mind how to fix those bugs, but I'm just lazy to do it. JUST LET ME TAKE A BREAK!!

With my FYP project, I really found myself to have really learn many new things. I see myself being able to take on larger projects now, and that's definitely a good thing. As usual, I haven't been sleeping a lot lately. I tend to sleep late at night, then wake up late in the afternoon
On a side note, to a special person. Hope you liked the little gift that I've got for you for your birthday. I really have no idea whether you messaged me or not, because I changed my iPhone with SingTel just on the exact same day that you received my gift. Nonetheless, a response is not what I require from you. Most importantly, is that you liked it. All I can say now is still, take care :)
As always, take care and I'll see you soon...

Will be accompanying a few friends to catch a movie at CIty Square (GV) tomorrow at 2pm, The Internship. Before that, I also got something to attend to from 10am to 12pm. After the movie, I have no idea what else they've planned for the day.

FYP progress is going on smoothly, even though there are not much progress or reports from the Android side of the project. My side is seemingly going on very smoothly. The coding for my side is done so perfectly that I really do not expect any errors at all. All 'might happen' errors are handled properly, to ensure the best user experience when using the application.

The movie only cost 60 cents per pax!, due to the iGV promotion for the members. There's still an underlying cost of 1.50 booking fee too. Even with that, it is still extremely cheap compared to anything offered outside

Had durian yesterday night for dinner. Dad bought over 15 durian from the marketplace. There's still 5 left in the kitchen, unopened. Urgh, now my entire room smells of durian ;P

Phew, it is late now and I should be sleeping soon. Signing off @ 3:03am

As always, take care and I'll see you soon...

Laptop, speakers, Creative X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB Sound Card, Cordless house phone, Dragon Fruit plant and my wallet :D

Just rearranged everything in my room, especially my table. With the sub woofer aside, I finally got more space on my table. Everything I need is within reach or in close vicinity, I hope this setup will make myself more efficient? I still got my G400 gaming mouse, just that it is not in this picture.

CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER X-FI SURROUND 5.1 PRO USB Sound Card

Connected this to my laptop, and I'm getting much better sound fidelity and control over the sound. Bought this over the National Day week, it arrived about 1 week earlier than expected. Love the Volume Dial finishing, the sides of the finishing just look so similar to the bezel of my iPhone 5. This also support up to 5.1 speaker setup. I only got 2.1 in my room though, sadly. Not to mention that it provides optical output too :D

Also received the Cathay movie passes from Mediacorp. So happy with the movie passes and not to mention, one month free access to Toggle.sg :)

It is currently 2:56am in the night (actually morning), and I can't sleep. So I thought I would just make a blog post here on my blog. Here is goes. Just played a few rounds of CS:GO with my friend. Got myself a new collectible again, not selling it this time since it only cost 20 cents? I got a case yesterday and sold it for around 1.30USD. Those who play CS:GO should get what I mean.

Because of all the money earning items that are dropped currently by the game, the game is also starting to see many user using bot to play. The main purpose is to earn them the case by random, or increasing their hours to get a Operation Payback Gold Medal... It really spoils the game for us legit players, so me and my friends actually vote kicked them out of the game. It was kinda funny as my friends would almost instantly accept the kick vote and the botters would be kicked by the server

Apparently, this team mate of mine only know how to walk in 'circles' and the other only know how to walk straight...

This screenshot was taken during the 2012 Christmas Event for CS:GO, notice the players are wearing party hats?

Watched 'That Girl in Pinafore' a few days ago. It was an amazing and touching movie. It is directed by a Singapore director (Support local films!). The director took a different approach compared to films by Jack Neo.

The movie theater was kinda empty when I watched the movie, with less than 20 audiences. I was also given a free complimentary movie pass from Shaw as I'm one of the first few people who bought tickets for that day. There were many great songs that were played throughout the movie as well. Due to the epic sound system that you get when watching a movie in a cinema, I really enjoyed the songs. I actually bought those songs in iTunes before even watching the movie. Before watching the movie, those songs were nice, but after watching the movie, all the songs made much more sense to me. Whenever I listen to those songs now, I can still remember many of the scenes in the movie.

The overall movie experience was good as expected (It can be better if that Shaw staff don't keep opening the door of the theater hall, it was distracting). The little twist at the end of the movie was quite surprising for me. At least, I didn't expect that kind of ending. I really hoped to see Jia Ming tell Rachael that he is her father, but that didn't happen. The part when May suddenly died, got me 'dumbfounded' in a way. Audiences have no idea why May died. The nearest thing I can relate to is that May wanted to 'surprise' Jia Ming by bringing her daughter back to Singapore to visit Jia Ming for the first time?

Now that I have all those songs purchased in iTunes, it is constantly on repeat. I actually did not know much about 新谣 before. As I started playing those songs at home, my mum went '哇, 你现在也学人家听新谣'. Really hope to see the movie release in DVD, or even better Blu-Ray :)

Exams are coming up so soon for me. I'm most worried about my EM2B as usual. I just have to put in more effort in studying my EM2B than my other subjects, and hopefully it will be alright this way. Recently, just submitted my PBL for EM2B, and I think the lecturer should be pretty pleased with the work.

OPSYS Mini Project went well and I got full marks for it, and so is NETMGMT? Got full marks for lab test as well. All these seems like good things but actually it's nothing good. My math still sucks :(

So many things happen throughout these few months, and it is national day today! This is also the first year that I get to celebrate Singapore's birthday as a Singapore citizen! I just got my Singapore Pink IC a month ago. I also had a chance to go to NE Show 2, to feel the excitement of National Day myself.

FYP is going extremely well, with tremendous progress on both the Windows and Android fronts. I've actually created a website for my FYP project, but it is private for now and I don't wish that our incredible idea fall into the wrong hands. But trust me, it is nothing short of spectacular :) I'm putting my FYP work to rest for a bit, and will be back working on it after my exams. SPOILER: I'm trying to work on an iOS version as well, stay tuned!

Recorded the full NDP Parade in full stunning HD 1080p clarity from HD5 at 50 fps, with a video size of around 15GB. Even after so many years with the Media Player, I am still impressed with the quality the Media Player records at and puts out. I also finally have the entire room to myself. The studying/laptop table is now placed in my room, but still with plenty of space left to spare. I can finally use my laptop under the comfort of an air conditioned room!

With Hari Raya, National Day and the weekends all in one, this is the longest break I ever had for a very long time. Still, I have lab test and quiz coming up next week as well. Sometimes I wonder whether I should work on my exams or the lab test/quiz itself, hmmm. I should be rather busy as I have my exams, FYP and next, NS!! I really hope I do well for my FYP though, as I think that my group have a fantastic idea and hope we make it into the FYP Engineering show competition? :P

Went to USS a few days ago, here are the pictures/videos

So many things have happened these past week for me. I've made huge progress for my FYP and created an app that helps and works hand in hand with the Android brother that we're going to create soon. The Windows counterpart is already working with a certain algorithm which will help my group and lead us in a way that we predetermined earlier.

I don't want to spill the beans regarding my FYP project YET, but just trust me that it is going on as smooth as butter. I'm just working out the kinks of my Windows application and I'm ready to use my own application for the development of the Android app, or maybe even iOS?!?

USS became extremely boring after a few times I went there with my SSP. Just because I can go there whenever I want, I just go there to lepak all the time :D

Bought and received a few NFC tags, and I currently have one hanging on my keys. That would pretty much prove that I'm a tech geek. Haha :) The power button of my iPhone 5 is getting glitchy, and it doesn't work 40% of the time. Time to get my iPhone 5 replaced, again.
